IN BRIEF
Penn State is a multi-campus public land-grant university dedicated
to improving the lives of people in Pennsylvania, the nation, and
the world through integrated, high-quality programs in teaching, research,
and outreach. Three campuses serve the Pittsburgh region by offering
bachelor's degrees including Applied Psychology, Business, Communications,
and Information Sciences & Technology as well as the first two
years of 160 Penn State academic majors; associate degrees and related
certificates. Academic programs serve diverse student bodies with
opportunities to explore careers and to participate in related internships
in the Pittsburgh area. HOUSING
Penn State Beaver and Penn State McKeesport offer University-operated
on-campus housing, while Penn State New Kensington has privately owned
housing conveniently located adjacent to the campus. ACTIVITIES
Penn State Beaver, Penn State McKeesport and Penn State New Kensington
each offer more than 30 student clubs and organizations from the campus
newspaper to the Student Government Association. Themes for clubs
and activities may involve the academic, cultural, professional and
social interests of our students. On-campus weekly activities and
entertainment provide students with a balance of student life and
academics.
SPORTS
Penn State Beaver, Penn State McKeesport and Penn State New Kensington
students capture the Penn State athletic spirit through a variety
of varsity, club, intramural and recreational sports. Varsity sports
compete in the Commonwealth Campus Athletic Conference and the Western
Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference. Each campus has an established
athletics program and unique athletic facilities including a gymnasium,
fitness and/or weight rooms, racquetball courts, sand volleyball and
playing fields.

PROGRAMS OF STUDY
Penn State offers more than 160 baccalaureate and 20 associate degree
majors. The Penn State in Pittsburgh locations offer the first two
years of these programs as well as an increasing number of bachelor's
degrees that can be completed locally. All four years of bachelor's
degrees in Business, Communications, Information Sciences & Technology,
and Psychology (Applied) can be completed at Penn State Beaver, Penn
State McKeesport and Penn State New Kensington. VISIT

Pittsburgh to Penn State Beaver:

Take Interstate 279 South (the Parkway West) toward
Pittsburgh International Airport. |

I-279 S becomes Route 30 West, then
becomes Route 60 North. |

Take PA Route 60 North, past the airport. |
 |
Follow Route 60 to the Monaca / Shippingport
Exit (Exit 12). |

At the exit, bear right onto PA Route 18 North. |
 |
Go straight through two traffic lights, following
the signs to Beaver campus. |

The campus is on the left side approximately 1.2
miles from the Route 60 exit. |

Pittsburgh to Penn State McKeesport:

Take I-376 East (Parkway East) to Exit #8A (Formerly
Exit #10). |

Exit sign reads 30 East Forest Hills/ McKeesport.

Take Route 30 East (Ardmore Boulevard)
for approximately 5 miles. |
 |
Turn right at Route 148 South. Travel approximately
3 miles. |
 |
Turn left on to Hartman Street. |
 |
At the next traffic signal, turn left onto O'Neil Boulevard.
Campus entrance is 1/4 mile |

Turn right into the campus. |

At the fork in the road, bear right to the Frable Building.
The Admissions Office is located on the first floor of the Frable

Take Route 28 North to Exit 14. |

Follow signs for Route 366, New Kensington. |

At intersection of Route 366 and Route 780, turn
left and proceed up the hill. |

At the top of the hill, bear to the left. |

Continue on Route 780 approximately 5 miles. |
